July 25-26, 2008
City Fest 2008 -  Fifth Annual Outreach & Benefit Concert

Waterbury, CT

Please come and join us in prayer, fellowship and participation. Bring the whole family. It's free, it's fun, and full of faith based activity. Be a part of collective "hands on" ministry, as the body of Christ comes together as one to fulfill the great commission. We are always in need of volunteers for set up and break down, manning tables, directing traffic, coordinating the collected food items, and volunteers for prayer teams. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate.

On Friday evening, July 25 there will be a kick off prayer and praise gathering underneath the big tent at Library Park beginning at 5pm with a dedication service honoring the Waterbury Police and Fire Dept., followed by an intimate time of praise and worship led by Spirit Song Ministries.

On Saturday City Fest 2008 will feature music ministries, worship bands, choirs and soloists. There will be inspirational testimonies and many ministry moments during the day, as over 25 churches and ministries come together to reach out to the Greater Waterbury area with an "out of box" presentation of the gospel.

There will be street witnessing teams, prayer intercessors, and specialized ministry happening all over the park. One of the key features of the festival will be the prayer tent, headed by National Day Of Prayer coordinator, Mary Bruce. People with prayer needs and requests are invited in and prayed for throughout the day. This year's event will also provide family activity including clowns, puppet shows, face painting and balloon shaping. In addition there will be lots of free stuff, including free hot dogs, soda, popcorn, snowcones and more. There will be free balloons for the kids with toy giveaways and over 90 free bicycles will be given away by raffle. There is no charge for any event!

ACTS 4 Ministries will be conducting one of their many clothing giveaways with lots of free clothing items available to needy area residents, including shoes. Every year hundreds of families benefit from this very important outreach. Many para-church ministries such as ACTS 4, Hope For Life, Angel Tree Ministry, New England Prison Fellowship, Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, National Day Of Prayer, Christian Connection, LystenUp (youth coalition) etc. will be on hand. Also there will be many social service agencies setting up tables, tents an booths to offer their services to the community. City Fest serves the Connecticut Food Bank as a citywide food drive, collecting almost 1000lbs of donated food items each year to help stock local soup kitchens and food pantries. They park their truck at the event and all day long area residents come down to fill it up.
